LSUE's Nikki May Receives Award for Learning Innovation

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Assistant Professor Nikki May is the recipient of a teaching award from LSU Online and Continuing Education (OCE) during its recent Innovation Series.  May was one of three LSU system educators awarded with the “Innovative Contributions to Online Learning” during LSU’s OCE Spring Innovation Series entitled “Courageous Leadership: Reshaping the Future for Higher Education.”

May received the award for her planning techniques and course design of the online Associate of Applied Science in Management degree offered at LSU Eunice.

“It’s humbling to receive recognition for the hard work our entire faculty and staff in management have put in to make our online degree a reality,” LSUE Assistant Professor Nikki May said.  “We want to give our students the tools and resources they need to thrive, not only while with us but once they enter the workforce.”

The “Innovative Contributions to Online Learning” award recognizes educators who have made meaningful enhancements to online and continuing education through the implementation of new strategies and practices. Recipients are acknowledged for their commitment to improving the learning experience, demonstrating a proactive approach in adopting effective methodologies that engage students and facilitate their success. Their efforts contribute significantly to making online and continuing education more accessible and effective for all learners.

The Innovation Series provides the LSU community with opportunities to initiate conversations through exploring new developments, trends and best practices in the realm of online and continuing education.

May has been a part of the LSU Eunice community since 2013, currently serving as an assistant professor of General Business in addition to her duties as the Department Chair of Business and Technology.
