Among the most highly valued skills in today's job market and in our constantly changing world are the art of oral and written communication, a keen sense of critical analysis and reasoning and the ability to employ creative ways to solve problems. It teaches you judgment, historical perspective, the ability to reason, and the art of communication. Liberal arts majors take a diverse cross-section of courses, such as history, modern languages, philosophy, mathematics and science, English, computer science, astronomy and psychology, to name only a few.
The Division also offers programs within the areas of science and mathematics whille being dedicated to the education of the leaders of tomorrow in the fields of health care, industry, technology, engineering, and science. The three major disciplines include: Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Mathematics.

Mission
The mission of the Department of Liberal Arts is to assist our students in developing skills of communication and self-expression in speech, writing and art, while also providing them with an ability to understand and function in a broad social context.
The mission of the Department of Science and Mathematics to provide an avenue for our students to achieve science literacy and intellectual development through quality educational experiences, interactions with highly credentialed and respected faculty and undergraduate research opportunities.
Vision
The Department of Liberal Arts seeks to provide students with the fundamental communication skills and cultural knowledge that will allow them to successfully transition to a four-year institution or the workforce.
The Department of Science and Mathematics vision for the future is to be recognized for our commitment to academic excellence in the various science and mathematics disciplines.
