Three LSUE Faculty Members Named Board of Regents Meauxmentum Scholars

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice is proud to announce that three faculty members have been named Meauxmentum Scholars by the Louisiana Board of Regents.  The inaugural scholar program features more than 100 faculty members chosen from around the state to participate due to their commitment to excellence and student success in the classroom.

LSU Eunice will be represented by Dr. Summer Ford, Dr. Robert Jones II and Bridget Thibodeaux as members of the Louisiana Board of Regents’ inaugural cohort of Meauxmentum Scholars.  Dr. Ford is an assistant professor of Psychology, Dr. Jones II is an assistant professor of English, and Ms. Thibodeaux is a clinical coordinator of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

“We are proud of the work our LSU Eunice campus community does on a daily basis, and these three faculty members are shining examples of the commitment we have to our students,” LSU Eunice Chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson said.  “Their involvement with the Meauxmentum Scholars program will help our progress not only here at LSUE, but at a statewide level as well.”

The Meauxmentum Scholars are charged with helping improve student success and close equity gaps in higher education across the state.  Scholars will support a faculty professional development program and equip fellow faculty with tools to improve student learning.

Scholars will engage in virtual and in-person professional development events and spend time sharing this knowledge with colleagues thanks to funding from Lumina Foundation.

The Louisiana Meauxmentum Summit invited leadership from all 28 of the state’s public undergraduate institutions of higher education to discuss how "The Momentum Approach" can be incorporated on their campuses to ultimately reach the goals of the state’s higher education master plan, Louisiana Prospers.
