Fall Enrollment

EUNICE, La. – Louisiana State University Eunice is continuing its trend of growing enrollment with another record breaking fall this semester.  LSUE has established new benchmarks in six different enrollment categories as well as the second largest fall head count in school history – only trailing last fall’s total enrollment.

LSUE welcomed 3,591 students to campus this semester, just off the record of 3,623 set one year ago.  The university has new all-time highs in applications (6,132), credit hours (34,092), preparatory credit hours (6,366), LSU online students (547), total online students (650) and part-time students (2,033).

“These encouraging trends in our enrollment is a testament to the outstanding work our entire LSUE community puts in each and every day,” LSU Eunice Chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson said.  “Our staff and faculty are passionate about our mission to serve the local community and these results reflect that.”

For a third consecutive year, LSUE has set a new benchmark for applications to the school.  The 34,092 credit hours surpass the all-time record set in 2003 and was just the third time the institution has surpassed the 33,000-credit hour benchmark, the other coming last fall.

LSUE saw the biggest gains in its online community, seeing a 24 percent increase in students from last year.  While not new records, LSUE saw growth in continuing students, new students and transfer students from the Fall 2023 census.  One of the largest emerging segments, preparatory students, has 1,042 students this fall.  That’s just off last year’s record pace of 1,121 and a 70.3% increase from Fall 2022.

St. Landry Parish (588 students) is the most represented parish among the LSUE student population, followed by Acadia (485), Lafayette (318), Evangeline (280), and Vermilion (178).  63 of the 64 Louisiana parishes are represented in the LSUE Fall 2024 student population.
