LSUE's Braneshea Moore Wins National Nursing Educator Award

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice’s Braneshea Moore, an assistant professor of nursing, has been named the 2024 Elsevier Educator of the Year by the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN).  Moore officially receives the honor at the OADN Convention in Tampa, Florida from October 31-November 2.

She is the first recipient of the award by an LSU Eunice faculty member and was selected among an organization featuring more than 9,000 professionals.

The Elsevier Educator of the Year award is presented to one exceptional educator that uses innovative teaching strategies, motivates students to perform at their highest level, works cooperatively with colleagues in the college and clinical setting, and demonstrates meaningful participation in college, professional, and community activities.

Moore has been a part of the LSU Eunice community since 2015, rising to assistant professor in 2020.  In 2019, she received the LSUE Foundation Teaching Excellence Award and has been nominated for Louisiana’s Nightingale Awards.

She currently serves as the third semester coordinator for the nursing department.  Moore teaches Nursing Didactics and Pharmacology to third semester students in addition to overseeing two clinical groups.

As the national advocate for the over 1,100 associate degree nursing programs across the country, the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) works to advance excellence in nursing education and community college pathways into registered nursing careers. OADN is the national voice and a pivotal resource for community college nursing education and the associate degree pathway, with a vision to expand networks that promote leadership, collaboration, and advocacy to further enrich nursing education and the communities they serve.
