January 23, 2024

KBLEUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice has named Kristie Broussard-Leger to serve as interim dean of Health Sciences and Business Technology.  In addition to her interim dean duties, Broussard-Leger will continue to serve as the program director of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program on campus.

“We are so honored that Kristie will take on this leadership position because of her experience and excellence here on campus,” LSU Eunice Chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson said. “Her intimate knowledge of the allied health department will make her a true asset for us during this transition period.”

Broussard-Leger joined LSU Eunice in 2018 as a clinical coordinator with Diagnostic Medical Sonography before ascending to program director in 2021.  Under her leadership, the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program has seen an overhaul of its technology on campus.  The program has also seen expanded clinical partnerships each into the Lake Charles and Alexandria markets.

During this past year, all DMS graduates earned dual registry designation – a first in LSU Eunice history.

Prior to her time at LSUE, Broussard-Leger was a practicing Sonographer and Radiographer for more than eight years.

A two-time graduate of LSU Eunice, Broussard-Leger received an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology in 2007, followed by a Certificate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography in 2012.  She earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Allied Health at Northwestern State University in 2020 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education at LSU Shreveport.
