Andrus Awarded As State Recreator of the Year

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU Eunice assistant professor Rachel Andrus has been recognized by the Louisiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (LAHPERD) as its Recreator of the Year, it was recently announced.
Andrus received the award at the LAHPERD Convention in Baton Rouge earlier this month.
An assistant professor at LSU Eunice for nearly 20 years, Andrus was awarded for helping spread the growth of Pickleball in and around the LSU Eunice community. Andrus organized a summer pickleball league for Eunice community members as part of the LSUE Office of Workforce Innovation and Continuing Education.
The Eunice resident is a longtime member of LAHPERD, serving in several capacities within the association including their President.
