General Studies Certificate
General Studies Certificate
The General Studies Certificate is a 30 course hours option for earning a credential that allows students to market themselves with proven skills in writing, mathematics, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, which is the basis of a liberal arts education. It can provide a formal structure for students attending LSUE that are not pursuing their associate degree.
The certificate can also serve as an path towards an associate degree at LSUE and eventually a baccalaureate degree after transferring to another institution if desired.

About the General Studies Certificate
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate effective communication of complex knowledge and ideas
2. Use processes, data, or evidence to solve problems and make effective decisions
3. Apply knowledge of natural science to the exploration and analysis of natural phenomena
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the cultural traditions and the human condition through a broad-based study of historical, cultural, and philosophical concepts
5. Demonstrate an understanding of human behavior and the relationship between individuals and their societies
6. Demonstrate an aesthetic and historical understanding of the arts
