Why LSUE

Start college where you’ll have small class sizes, personal attention, and low tuition. You can save thousands of dollars on your education while taking classes that can transfer to another college or university.  More and more students are discovering the best place to begin a bachelor's degree is at a 2 year institution. 

LSUE has over 100 majors available for transfer to a four-year college or university of your choosing to finish your bachelor’s degree.  Take a few classes just to get started or even complete an associate degree at LSUE first and then transfer to another institution to finish your bachelor’s degree.

Upon deciding on a prospective major, it is important that students do some research and seek advice from their faculty advisor about what the program's prerequisite courses are.

Transferring Course Credit

LSUE offers students acess to the Transfer Evaluation System (TES) in order to provide a listing of all the established equivalencies of course transfers at other institutions.  TES is the premier interactive resource for course data from institutions of higher education. 

How do you use TES as it relates to transferring from your selected major at LSUE to another university or college?

  • Identify what program and college or University you are looking to transfer to in the future
  • Determine what courses are needed at your future institution's program
  • Use the TES - Transfer Evaluation System to map your courses at LSUE with the required courses at your future institution

Colleges and Universities are continually updating program requirements so it is important to check with an LSUE advisor and also your future institution's program requirements.

Earn Your Associate Degree

There are many benefits to earning a Transfer Associate's Degree before finishing your time at LSUE, including the completion of your general education requirements and admission to 4 year univerities. Even if you transfer before completing your degree, you can complete the remaining requirements for your Associate's at your 4 year school and earn your Associate's from LSUE.

The Certificate of Technical Studies in Accounting Technology: Account Clerk provides specialized classroom instruction and practical experiences to prepare students for employment as accounting clerks and assistants or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or current employed in accounting.

Construction Managers use engineering and business principles to oversee the entire construction process. This includes estimating/budgeting, contract law, construction methods and materials, scheduling, safety, and effective communication.

Criminal Justice includes the study of the nature and causes of crime, patterns of crime, and the justice system.

Dental Hygienists clean and examine patients’ teeth and advise them on proper oral hygiene.
