frequently asked questions

Your room and meal plan charges are posted to your myLSUE account.  You pay your room and meal plan charges the same way you pay your tuition and fees by logging in to your myLSUE account, and paying with a credit card.  You may also pay in person at the Business Office on the first floor of the Science Building with a Visa or Mastercard.  For more information on making payments to LSUE, contact the Business Office at 337-550-1262.

We provide a roommate matching service as part of our housing application.

Under normal circumstances guests are welcome, but you are responsible for their behavior. Overnight guests are welcome as long as all roommates agree and the guest is not living there regularly. However, due to COVID-19 we no longer allow guests in Bengal Village.

Students are not allowed to bring any animals onto the premises, including in the units or on the grounds, even for short periods of time. Students requesting service animals should fill out and return the Assitant or Service Animals Request form on the housing website for approval AND contact the Office of Disability Services prior to bringing any animals to campus.

You may defer your room and meal payment for a limited time. Again, your room and board is posted to your myLSUE account. Contact the Business Office at 337-550-1262 for more information on Financial Aid deferments.

Bengal Village is closed for the Winter Break between Fall and Spring semesters. Contact the Housing Office to inquire about Winter Break housing options.  Students who wish to live on campus during the Summer should fill out the summer housing application via the housing portal.

You are more than welcome to supplement our existing furniture package with personal items and furniture you feel would make your home more comfortable. You may not remove the furniture provided from the apartment.

We will not be able to accommodate early arrivals and you will need to find alternate accommodations if you plan to arrive before the pre-scheduled move-in date.

Attending college and deciding to live in a student community often means living with a roommate. Roommates may have diverse experiences and may come from different cultures. Our housing staff is trained at helping roommates work through concerns to negotiate resolutions to problems. Unfortunately, space is not always available to offer relocation, and there is a $200 fee associated with approved room change requests. You cannot be released from your contract with us for not liking your roommate, but our housing staff will make an effort to ensure your living situation is optimal to your academic success at LSUE.
