WHAT IS THE ACADEMY

The LSUE Academy is an innovative approach to secondary education that enables high school students to potentially earn an associate’s degree while earning their high school diploma by taking dual enrollment courses.

Dual enrollment is a program that allows high school students to simultaneously earn college credit that will also count as high school credit. It's courses offer an opportunity to take challenging courses and gain a jump start to a college education. Dual enrollment courses are college courses.  For students who qualify for Federal Pell grants, dual enrollment courses are free.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Students who have successfully completed 10th grade can apply, have received a positive recommendation from his/her school principal, and have met the ACT (Pre-ACT) eligibility requirements outlined below:

  • 2.5 High School GPA
  • ACT Composite of 19
  • Math – composite 19
  • English – composite 18

       or

  • EOC Score of Alg. I 760 or Geom. 750
  • EOC Score of English II 740
