Biological Sciences

Majoring in Biological Sciences is an excellent way to prepare for careers in the health sciences industry including dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, and many others. Students will complete a sequence of biology courses with the associated labs.

As an alternative to taking all of the science options, a student interested in further study in biological science majors may choose to add more courses in the Humanities area, e.g., foreign language (6-12 hours) to the degree plan in preparation for transfer into a baccalaureate program. Advisors, and the university catalogs and links on the articulation web site ( can provide more guidance on specific course recommendations depending on the student’s area of interest and anticipated baccalaureate major.
