Dr. Kyle Smith

Dean of Student Affairs

Dr. Kyle Smith, originally from Bayou Vista, Louisiana, comes to LSUE with over ten years of experience working in housing and residence life, student conduct, student activities, and student organization support. His Master's degree is from Southern Miss, and his Doctorate is from UL Lafayette in higher education administration. At LSUE, he is responsible for advising the Student Government Association and provides vision and oversight for all functional areas within the Division of Student Affairs at LSUE. He enjoys playing guitar, reading horror and sci/fi novels, and spending quality time with his wife and two young kids.

Amber Arnaud

Administrative Assistant for Student Affairs

Amber Arnaud, a Eunice native, recently joined the Student Affairs team at LSUE in October 2017 as Administrative Assistant for the Office of Student Affairs. Before joining LSUE, she worked as a human resources supervisor for a home-based care agency for eleven years. Amber enjoys doing vinyl projects, spending time with her family, and going on ATV/UTV rides with friends.

Catherine Molleno

Director of Housing and Residence Life

Catherine Molleno comes to LSUE from Loraine, Ohio with over six years of professional experience working in college and university student housing at Ohio State University, Oklahoma State University, and Lamar University. She emigrated to the U.S. in 2002 from the Philippines, and she holds a Masters degree in International Studies from Oklahoma State, where she served as President of the Graduate Student Government Association. Ms. Molleno enjoys reading and traveling both around the U.S. and abroad.

Victoria Throop

Coordinator for Housing Operations

Victoria Throop is from New Iberia, LA and began working at LSU Eunice in February 2018. She holds a Masters degree in History from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has taught courses in American history as well as constitutional and political history. Victoria worked for several years in housing and student affairs at UL Lafayette in various capacities, including as a resident assistant, a community director, and an administrative assistant in the History department.

Police Department

Captain Cory Lalonde

Director of LSUE Police

Captain Cory Lalonde has served LSUE as Director of the LSUE Police Department since 2015. Originally from Breaux Bridge, LA, Captain Lalonde is a graduate of Teurlings High School and majored in criminal justice at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He carries with him over 24 years of experience in law enforcement, including four years at the UL Lafayette Police Department and over 15 years at the LSU Police Department.

Sergeant Andy Gaspard

Sergeant LSUE Police

Sergeant Andy Gaspard is a Louisiana native and graduate of Bayou Chicot High School. He recently joined the LSUE Police Department in November 2017, and he brings with him over 13 years of law enforcement experience. Sgt. Gaspard is a Licensed Emergency Medical Responder and is trained in crisis intervention, taser instruction, drug intervention, active shooter response, and more. He and his wife Patricia reside in Basile, LA with their two boys, Shaun and Evan.

Dr. Jessica Jones

Director of Student Success

Dr. Jessica Jones, an Opelousas, LA native, joins the LSUE Student Affairs team as the Director of Student Success and is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing strategies that contribute to students' persistence and graduation or successful transfer. Dr. Jones holds a Masters in English and a Ph.D. in higher education administration, and she brings over ten years of experience in higher education related to student success by promoting student engagement, diversity, equity, mentoring, and leadership development. In her spare time, Dr. Jones enjoys making memories with her daughter, reading, and belting out high notes at karaoke.

Sheila Janice

Administrative Assistant for the Student Success Center

Sheila Arvie Janice, originally from the "BIG" town of Chataignier, LA, serves LSUE as Administrative Assistant for the Student Success Center. She earned her certificate in general office operations from Acadiana Technical Institute in Crowley, LA, and she also received an Associate's degree in office information systems and is certified in office practices & procedures from LSUE. Currently, she is nearing completion of her Bachelor's degree in sociology from McNeese State University. Sheila now resides in Eunice, LA with her husband Roy where they raised their three children. Now, she and Roy enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren, Kaden and Justin.

Damien Papillion

Coordinator for Pathways to Success and Academic Advisor

Damien Papillion is a Eunice, LA native and serves the Student Success Center as the Coordinator of the Pathways to Success program at LSUE. He has earned a Bachelors degree in history & music from Grambling State University, a Masters degree in adult education and higher education leadership administration from Jones International University as well as over 21 hours in E-Learning Technology Design from Jones International University. Damien is very passionate about education and music and is an extremely valued member of the LSUE community.

Sharon Williams

Coordinator for Tutoring Services and Academic Advisor

Sharon Williams was born in Guyana, South America. A naturalized U.S. citizen, Ms. Williams made Louisiana her new home when she came to the United States almost three decades ago to join her father and pursue her education. She holds her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and serves LSUE as Coordinator for Tutoring Services and Academic Advisor. Ms. Williams believes that her difficult life experiences have taught her compassion, and she thinks that anyone surrounded by love and support is capable of being successful.

Dr. Althea Jackson

Coordinator for Disability Services and Academic Advisor

Dr. Althea Jackson joined the Student Affairs team at LSUE in 2002 and has worked in higher education for over 25 years. She earned her Bachelors degree in psychology from Southern University (Baton Rouge), her Masters degree in counselor education from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville), and her Doctorate in educational administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. At LSUE, she provides guidance and support for students with disabilities, assisting them with arranging accommodations, and she academically advises students. Helping college students achieve their dreams is a great honor that she cherishes dearly.

Ceslie O'Brien

Coordinator for First-Year Experience and Academic Advisor

Ceslie O'Brien, a Eunice, LA native and LSUE alumna, joined the LSUE student affairs in January 2018. After obtaining her bachelor's degree in English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, she worked as a middle school English language arts teacher. However, her love for LSUE led her to return to the campus to serve as Coordinator for the First-Year Experience and Academic Advisor. In her spare time, Ceslie enjoys reading, volunteering, and working on homesteading projects.
