Building to be Dedicated Oct. 5

LSU Eunice will celebrate the opening of the new state-of-the-art Community Education Building completed earlier this summer.

The dedication begins at 1:30 p.m. on October 5. LSU Eunice Chancellor William Nunez will host the public event, with remarks followed by a reception and building tours. Also making remarks at the dedication will be LSU System President William Jenkins and State Representative Mickey Guillory.

The two-story, 45,000-square-foot building creates new spaces for Continuing Education and Information Technology. The building houses several science labs, a computer lab, a demonstration kitchen area, and numerous classrooms.

Construction began on the new building in 2010 using funds provided to LSU Eunice by the legislature after the state experienced a surplus in state monies in 2007.
