LSU Eunice and other organizations in St. Landry Parish have teamed up to tell their upbeat stories in a coordinated branding campaign called "We're Moving Forward."
"We're going to start telling the good stories about St. Landry Parish," Bill Rodier, director of St. Landry Economic Development, proclaimed during an open house and reception to kick off the campaign.
The nine organizations include the parish government, the parish tourist commission, St. Landry Parish Schools, the solid waste commission, the sheriff's department, the St. Landry Chamber of Commerce, South Louisiana Community College T.H.Harris Campus, and LSU Eunice.
The collaboration rolled out their branding and good news website, www.slpforward.com , where readers can view ‘good news' about the nine organizations.
"What's good for St. Landry Parish is good for the region, and what's good for the region is good for St. Landry Parish," said Parish president Bill Fontenot. "I often hear that from (Lafayette city-parish mayor) Joey Durel's mouth, only he uses Lafayette Parish."
Rodier said "Moving Forward" signs of various sizes, including a billboard along I-49, will be visible in the parish within days.
