Rad Tech Students Receive Pins
The 2013 graduating class in Radiologic Technology received their pins in ceremonies held this week at LSU Eunice. Eighteen graduates were honored at the annual pinning ceremony after spending six semesters in the top-ranked program in Louisiana.
Receiving pins were Coby Baudoin of Rayne, Claire Broussard of Lafayette, Jade Chachere of Opelousas, Laci Cormier of St. Martinville, Chelsea Courville of Eunice, Michael Foret of Lafayette, Shanna Frederick of Arnaudville, Brittany Gregoire of Lafayette, Amanda Hayes of Rayne, Lanie Hoffpauir of New Iberia, Kenneth Janes of Opelousas, Jennifer Le of Lafayette, Michael Martin of Lafayette, Shanna Neighbors of Lafayette, Amber Pierret of Lafayette, Kimberly Rose of Ville Platte, Danyelle Stelly of Opelousas, and Linzay Young of Eunice.
Honored with the Chi Sigma Tau Academic Excellence Award were Jade Chachere, Lanie Hoffpauir, Shana Frederick, Kenneth Janes, Linzay Young, Amber Pierret, Laci Cormier, Kimberly Rose, and Coby Baudoin.
Also honored during the ceremony were Chachere, Frederick and Gregorie, who earned the program's top awards. Chachere won the Outstanding Scholastic Student Award which is given to the student with the highest grade point average in the class and the Outstanding Achievement Award. Frederick earned the Distinguished Student Award which is selected by class members and honors the student who is a role model for others in the program and the Outstanding Clinical Student Award for Opelousas General Hospital. Gregorie won the Outstanding Clinical Student Award for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Linzey Young was recognized for his work as class president.
The university's Radiologic Technology is one of the top programs in the nation, consistently having an 100 percent pass rate on national board exams.
