Campus Activities Board Wins National Award

The LSU Eunice Campus Activities Board won the National Campus Events Organization of the Year award at the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities Conference in Atlanta last month.

CAB was evaluated on the organization's mission and the successful fulfillment of that mission. THE APCA awards committee also looked at the major events sponsored by CAB such as Community Day, Welcome Week and iChoose Days.

The Board won the South Central Regional Award at a conference early this year, making them eligible for the national award. They competed with over 300 two and four year schools for the national title. This is LSU Eunice's first time winning the regional and national awards.

The conference delegation includes officers and representatives from CAB, the Student Government Association, the Culturally Diverse Student Alliance, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. While at the conference, the LSU Eunice delegation presented an educational session on the topic of developing a tobacco-free campus policy.

Students from all four groups conducted fundraising and other activities to make the trip to the conference possible.
